The flag ship of the Fisher Space Pen Co. continues to be the Bullet pen. An immediate success when fi rst manufactured by Paul C. Fisher in 1948, the distinctive styling of the Bullet has made it into one of the icons of American culture recognized the world over. The Bullet is no stranger to celebrity having made many appearances on television. Carl Reiner presented a Bullet on-air to then host of The Tonight Show, Johnny Carson; its unique writing capabilities have been touted on Good Morning America; currently, it's featured on a sement of the Travel Channel's popular series “John Ratzenberger's Made In America”; and, as many people are well aware, the Bullet was the subject of “The Pen,” an episode of TV's favorite show about nothing, Seinfeld (who still carries one in his pocket to this day). The Bullet has been the topic of many art books as well as magazine and website e-articles. It is part of the permanent collection of New York's MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) where it was exhibited for years, having been cited as an outstanding example of “exquisite industrial design.” The Bullet, one of the most recognizable pens of the 20th century, is sometimes copied by other manufacturers, but it cannot be duplicated.
